Who We Are
Your Instructor Dann Schantz, is excited to help you reach your goal of achieving an FAA certification to fly a drone. This course is part of that journey. Not only will you get exposure to practice test material for the head knowledge - you will also get practice at real flying skills. We all want to be certified, but how much more valuable you will be as a pilot if you have a course that includes real situational experiences.
Dann has an Industrial Technology degree from Sul Ross State University and is close to completing a masters at Texas Tech University. He has more than seven years of drone flight experience and has helped with drone flight projects at Midland College, I20 Wildlife Preserve, youth events, commercial construction sites and just general photography - both still and video.
Dann is the co-owner of Venture Robotics, where he helps foster a Culture of Curiosity for young and with robotics education and 3D printing. Drone work is a natural segway with robotics. Dann is married and has two children. His favorite place to be is at a lake with his family.
